The most prominent members of this gentry are Lam Tan Chiu and Li Họng Mi. We earnestly recommend that the Government should take steps to suppress these evils by banishment end that no Solicitors' clerks should in future be permitted to serve on any of the public committees on which the respectable Chinese merchants are periodically invited to serve by the Government.
